HOLISTIC ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
I help artists, musicians, and creatives build the resilience, authenticity, and drive to thrive in their personal and professional life.
– Kiyoko
Being an artist, musician, and creative is a pursuit like no other.
It’s more than just a career –
It’s a way of being.
Your work is driven by a deep sense of purpose and a need to express your unique perspective. Unlike most careers, your path involves baring your soul, with the goal of moving and touching others through your art and creations.
As a creative myself, music and art have always been a vital part of my life.
Coming from a family rooted in both the arts and business, I bridge the gap between creative authentic expression, and strategic and practical thinking.
With a Master’s in Psychology, years as a university educator, and various certifications in coaching, I guide artists and creatives toward sustainable performance and authentic expression, and am specialized in Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs) and giftedness.
My multicultural Japanese-Dutch background, experience in international communities, and personal journey through health challenges, shape my unique holistic approach to helping artists and creatives thrive.

Workshops
Tailor made workshops at festivals and educational institutes where participants learn and practice skills for relevant topics, e.g. building resilience, high-performance.
My time with Kiyoko at the workshop was an unforgettable and inspiring experience! Her valuable insights helped me navigate especially the psychological challenges of auditioning and performing, and I felt completely relaxed in her calm and caring atmosphere. I trusted her completely and was able to learn and grow so much as a musician in just a short amount of time. With a new perspective and attitude toward my career, I feel inspired to continue pursuing my dreams. Thank you Kiyoko for such a wonderful experience!
Signature Events
Lab Circles: Group sessions with targeted topics.
Kiyoko and Nobuko Retreats: a 3-day in-house event for violists by world renowned violist Nobuko Imai and myself. Included are masterclasses, workshops and private coaching in the heart of Amsterdam.
The most precious masterclass experience I’ve ever had: with a balance of challenging, fantastic lessons and guided life coaching in a safe and warm atmosphere. Every course should aspire to create this realm for true creative freedom. Especially in this competitive and stressful music market- a breath of fresh air.

Kiyoko was great in helping me think of new strategies to make organizational tasks more manageable and enjoyable, instead of stressful and overwhelming. I am currently sitting in a cafe enjoying a cup of coffee while dealing with correspondence and travel itineraries. It’s amazing how good my mood is…this is a new feeling for me!
I felt understood in a way I’ve needed and longed for for some time. Our session showed me creative new ways of working on the things that matter to me.
I had been stuck for some time with the feeling that everything was alright, but at the same time I could see there was something wrong with my artistic development and personal growth. Even if I thought I knew myself very well, Kiyoko helped me to quickly realize there was a bigger picture I was unaware of. She knows when to ask the exact questions to let one find the solutions for their own struggles. A truly deep and enriching personal experience.
– Alejandro París
I loved my session with Kiyoko, she is a great listener. She had a genuine interest in me and how I perceived my struggles, which made me feel respected. Her advice was direct and honest, and it helped me see the beauty in an otherwise tough period.
– Cellist
These sessions with Kiyoko were really helpful and opened my mind about how useful sessions with a quality coach like her can be. They helped me to focus on my problems on my own and to get motivated to solve them, even though it is a long way to go I now feel capable. Thank you!
– J.C. Palmero
Before our sessions, I felt overwhelmed and powerless about changes in my life. Through our conversations I realize I have the tools to create a space that allows me to be in control of my happiness.
-Abraham M, Violist in San Diego Symphony
Kiyoko was wonderful to talk to – very receptive, kind, and thoughtful in her advice. I highly recommend her!
– Violinist
Kiyoko listened to my troubles very patiently and led me to analyze the reasons for my emotions. After a series of training, I feel much more comfortable. Kiyoko gave me a lot of encouragement during the training as well.
– Yanan Wang, violist, China.
I felt quite lost before I had the session with Kiyoko, and she helped me to realize actually there are so many different ways to do. Afterwards I feel like it’s really nice and I find the way to help me to change a view or get better with my current situation.
– Yujie Wang, China/UK/US.
Before session start, I was very nervous, because I am worried that my English is not fluent enough. During the conversation, I feel the process is amazing. Continuing a deep conversation, Kiyoko helped me make the process smoother and taught me to always remember how I feel. It’s really an unforgettable experience.
– Yi-Yun Chang, violist, Taiwan
Loved talking to Kiyoko about my career and personal life. Kiyoko was super open minded and understanding of my situation. Allowed me to feel comfortable to share and open up which made us have a discussion that was very insightful!
